Heritage

UK Map

For true quality assurance we believe that the origin of every kitchen component should be traceable.

At Joseph & Kingsley we take pride in both the calibre of our own products and the calibre of our partners. Our British heritage is extremely important to us, informing our methods, designs and collections. We source locally wherever possible.

Please read on to learn a little more about the provenance of our products and partners.

Our founders

We are solid wood specialists based in Gloucestershire and provenance is something we take very seriously. Essential to our ethos is the belief that chain of manufacture and supply should be transparent and well-documented; we therefore keep this chain as small as possible by partnering with British suppliers, sourcing our woods from legal, sustainable sources and completing as many processes as possible within our own premises. The recent addition of home-grown oak - which is used to construct our exclusive super stave Gloucestershire oak worktop - has been a real source of pride.

Our collection

Our collection is quintessentially English in terms of design. While making the most of local timbers and European manufacture, all goods - be it units, worktops or frontals - are quality checked and finished in the UK. We rigid-build our cabinets, hand-paint our solid oak frontals, and carry out all bespoke services within Gloucestershire.

Our partners

Farrow & Ball

Farrow & Ball

Since the company's inception in the 1940s Farrow & Ball have become world leaders in paint manufacture. Yet at its heart the company remains quintessentially British. To this day Farrow & Ball operate from Dorset, England and continue to make paint to their original specification. They are renowned for reviving historic paint colours and using only the finest raw materials (eschewing artificial substances like acrylic), providing the perfect accentuation and protection for our solid wood products

AGA

AGA

The AGA cooker is an icon of traditional British kitchen design. Since the invention was patented in 1929 AGA have continued to innovate and build on their original heat-storage cooker, and now stock a variety of ovens imbued with AGA's signature quality and flair. To this day, each AGA cooker is crafted by hand at the Colebrookdale foundry and every component subject to an intense individual inspection and colour-checking process.

Perrin & Rowe

Perrin & Rowe

This British company was the first in the world to develop a three-way tap (delivering cold, hot and filtered water), a symbol of their unique business model which manages to be at once pioneering while upholding traditional quality values. Perrin & Rowe have stayed true to their roots, remaining in the UK and supporting British manufacturing and engineering by bringing all of their processes in-house. From handmade taps to superb ceramic sinks, Perrin & Rowe products are a perfect synthesis of home-grown craftsmanship and great quality.
