Free iPad Holder for Visitors to the Cheltenham Jazz Festival 2014

Cheltenham’s annual Jazz Festival begins today; and here at Joseph & Kingsley we’re feeling full of anticipation! Our position – just across from Montpellier Gardens – allows us to be ‘right in the thick of it’ for the next five days (we may even indulge in a bit of celebrity-spotting!)

With this in mind, we’d like to welcome visitors to the Jazz Festival to pop in and see us while they are in Cheltenham, and enjoy the festival spirit from our lovely showroom.

While the Joseph & Kingsley team wouldn’t dream of subjecting visitors to our musical talents(!) but we do have a jazz-themed gift for those who present a Jazz Festival 2014 ticket: a solid wood tablet holder, complete with music note engraving, which has been crafted by our in-house expert wood-working team. Choose from a superb selection of our most popular timbers – including oak, wenge and zebrano – before enjoying a tour around our showroom with a complimentary glass of bubbly.

These stunning ‘festival freebies’ provide the perfect way to prop up your iPad or tablet and broadcast some post-Jazz Festival melodies – but there is a limited supply available, so do pop in and see us soon! Our address and other useful contact information can be found on the showroom page. We look forward to meeting you.

Design Inspiration: Bright Lights, Big City

The trend for bold, dark colours or monochromatic interiors – such as can be seen in some of our beautiful Case Studies – can be daunting for those with smaller kitchens.

But by embracing some cleverly placed and well-designed light fittings, you can bring a touch of airiness to any space. Oversized lights in bold colours – like the dark fittings chosen by designer Vasi Ypsilantis in one of our featured kitchens – create drama and excitement; and, as Ypsilantis said, give the impression of ‘depth’ that is so vital in a smaller room.

Large lights can also increase the illusion of height and space that is created by a white or off-white design scheme, as our second kitchen image demonstrates. So do give ‘functional’ elements such as light fittings some careful thought: these could prove to be the perfect finishing touch to your bespoke kitchen design.

Design Inspiration: Yellow

Days are longer and winter is behind us: it’s no wonder that we’re seeing sunshine everywhere, including within interiors! Yellow is quickly making a name for itself as the season’s most popular – and most invigorating – colour.

There are many ways to integrate yellow into your design scheme; pale lemon painted cabinetry looks exquisite within solid oak kitchens, whereas brighter splashes of canary inject vibrance. Don’t be afraid to accessorise: with brighter yellows, a little goes a long way. A new gadget such as a retro toaster in ‘traffic light yellow’ (see image) will update your aesthetic without breaking the bank.

Whether you’re feeling mellow with yellow or fresh as a daisy, your home can only benefit from this marvellous colour. Here are a few of our favourite – and inspirational – images.
